Best TVs of 2026

Ranked by our critic's grades, best first.

The 2026 television list is short: three sets, all graded A, ranked in the order our critic placed them. Panel construction is the year's theme. The two LG entries run a second-generation RGB tandem OLED panel, and the Sony puts an LCD in front of a backlight built from individually driven red, green and blue diodes.

LG G6 OLED leads, graded A, the brightest OLED our critic has reviewed, with 165Hz on four inputs and 8.9ms of lag at $3,399 for the 65-inch. The tuning is meant to be noticed, and purists will spend a week in the menus. LG C6 OLED, also graded A, is a better C5 in every measurable way, brighter and more accurate, with four full bandwidth inputs, though its brightness boosting panel is reserved for the two largest sizes and its $2,699 launch price is one the review says to wait out. Sony Bravia 9 II, graded A, is the only LCD here, the first Bravia with an individually driven RGB LED backlight, carrying the brightest colour anyone has put behind an LCD under an anti reflection layer that holds up beneath household lamps, at $3,599.

Three matching grades leave size and room to decide. The C6 is the only one sold at 42 and 48 inches, the G6 and the Sony reach 97 and 98, and the Sony is the one reviewed for a lit room.
