About TierMarks

Everything graded S to F, by critic and crowd.

An independent review site for films, television, games, music, anime, manga and the tech people live with. No affiliate links, no sponsors, no advertising.

TierMarks grades movies, TV seasons, games, albums, anime, manga, phones, cars and more on one scale: S to F, the critic and the crowd side by side, never averaged together.

Who grades

Every review is written and graded in house, hands on the actual product, and published under the site’s own name. One rubric per section, every category graded by hand, and an overall that is a judgment rather than an average of the rest.

The scale

Six tiers. The letter is the headline; the category grades under it are the case.

  • Exceptional
  • Great
  • Good
  • Average
  • Weak
  • Avoid

The filled mark is oursThe critic’s grade, one reviewer, every category by hand.

The outline mark is yoursThe readers’ grade, from votes, shown once enough are in.

Independence

There are no affiliate relationships, sponsorships, or advertising deals behind any review on this site. Nothing here is paid placement. If that ever changes, the affected pages and this page will say so plainly.

How grading works

The rubric, the scale and the collections each have a page of their own.
