A different panel behind the glass this year, rescued by the glare free coating the flagship used to keep to itself.

The S90 line has been the sensible Samsung OLED for four years, and the S90H keeps that job while quietly changing what sits behind the glass. North American sets now use a white OLED panel from LG Display instead of the QD-OLED that made the S90C and S90D famous, which costs a little color volume at high brightness and shows up mostly in deep saturated reds.
What arrives in exchange is the glare free coating that used to be reserved for the S95 flagship, and in a room with a window behind the sofa that trade is worth making: reflections become a dull gray wash instead of a mirror of the room. Peak output lands near 1,550 nits on a small window, which is plenty for HDR highlights, and the gaming provision is complete, with 165Hz, variable refresh and low latency on every one of the four inputs.
Samsung still refuses Dolby Vision, so a large slice of the streaming catalogue arrives as HDR10+ or plain HDR10, and there is no DTS decoding either. At $2,699 for the 65 inch it is asking the same money as an LG C6 and more than a year old S90F that is already discounted, both of which are easier to recommend on price alone. Wait for the first markdown and it becomes the obvious mid range OLED.
