Wilson Duo Soft Review
2022WilsonGolf Ball
The softest ball anyone has put in a sleeve, which is both the entire pitch and the entire limitation.

Wilson has chased one number for a decade and the Duo Soft is the result. A compression in the high thirties is the lowest of any ball you can buy, and the difference is not subtle. Off a putter it is almost silent, and off an iron it feels as though the face is absorbing the strike rather than delivering it. For a senior player or anybody swinging under eighty-five miles an hour that softness is not a gimmick, it is the ball genuinely compressing and returning energy instead of sitting there like a stone.
The problem arrives when the speed goes up. Above roughly ninety-five miles an hour it over-compresses, spin climbs, and the ball flies shorter than a firmer one would, which is why so many players try it once and conclude it is slow. The thin ionomer cover does what ionomer covers do, which is very little once you are inside a hundred yards. It is twenty dollars, it is durable, and it is aimed at exactly one kind of golfer. Inside that group it is excellent and outside it is a mistake.
