Maxfli Tour X Review

Maxfli spent years as a name in the bargain bin, and the Tour X is the clearest sign that the joke has run its course. It is the high compression partner to the standard Tour, a four piece cast urethane ball designed around speed, and independent robot testing in 2025 put it among the fastest balls at every driver speed. In one of those tests it led the entire field for total distance at a moderate swing speed, tour flagships included.

It is not a distance ball wearing a urethane jacket, either. Around the green the testing recorded short game spin within the range of several tour models it undercuts on price. The profile simply leans toward the long game: this is a speed ball with usable spin rather than a spin ball with usable speed, and a player who needs every revolution to hold a firm green from a long iron has spinnier options. The professional game has noticed all the same: Ben Griffin won three PGA Tour events with it in 2025.

The trade is feel. Tour X is firm and clicky, a step harder than the standard Tour, and a golfer who picks a ball by the sound it makes off the putter will hear the difference from inside ten feet. Slower swings will not compress it fully and belong with the softer sibling.

At about forty dollars a dozen, and less again on its parent company's frequent promotions, it undercuts the flagships by a wide margin for performance that does not apologise. The only real catch is geography: outside the United States it is close to impossible to buy.
