Srixon Z-Star Diamond Review
2025SrixonGolf Ball
The overlooked middle child of the Z-Star family, and the one that stops a wedge faster than almost anything else on sale.

In Srixon's tour family the Diamond is the model the marketing forgets. It sits between the soft Z-Star and the firm, long XV, with a core tuned to take spin off the driver and a cover built to put it back on with a wedge. The 2025 version, only the second Diamond, shares the biomass urethane cover and Spin Skin+ coating of its siblings and spins less off the tee than the first.
The long game is where opinions split. Testers on the course found it fast and low spinning off the tee, keeping pace with the XV for distance on a lower flight, but a 62 ball robot test had it among the highest spinning balls in the field with a driver and only mid pack for carry. With irons it flies on a controlled line and lands steeply, which is what better players want from a ball they intend to aim at flags.
The short game is not up for debate. In the same robot test it produced the second highest pitch spin of the field and the most of any three piece tour ball, and hand testing found a full sand wedge spinning a thousand rpm more than the standard Z-Star. The feel through the bag lands between its siblings: softer than the XV, livelier than the Z-Star, responsive off the putter without clicking.
The faults are small. It lacks the premium look of the famous names, and a golfer who already spins approach shots plenty may find it spins too much to control. It launched at fifty dollars a dozen, the same as the rest of the family and a few dollars under the Titleist benchmark. For a spin player choosing on performance rather than the logo, it is the most complete ball Srixon makes.
