Bridgestone e12 Speed Review

Bridgestone rebuilt the e12 line for 2025 around launch rather than feel, splitting it into HiLaunch, Straight and Speed models and asking golfers to buy the one that corrects their flight. Speed is the one for players who hit it too high. The firmest compression of the three and Bridgestone's new Optimal Flight System design flatten the trajectory, keep spin down and add roll. Every ball also carries the MindSet sidestamp, a pre shot routine aid developed with Jason Day and his mental coach.

The case for it rests on one of the most emphatic robot results of its year. In a 62 ball test it was comfortably the best two piece ball, taking gold in its class for tee to green performance at all three swing speeds as well as for driving and approach play, and at the fastest speed it was the fourth longest ball of the entire field, urethane flagships included. On the course it behaves much closer to a three piece tour ball than its construction suggests, with a slightly firmer feel than Bridgestone's Tour B XS and more feedback than most budget balls.

The limits are the ones the brief implies. The low, running flight is a gift for a high launcher and a problem for anyone who already struggles to get the ball airborne, and better players find short approaches harder to work than they would with a urethane cover. Around the green it spins respectably for a two piece ball without threatening the tour models.

At thirty five dollars a dozen it sits a few dollars above the budget tier and far below the premium one, and for the golfer it is built for, it is the best value in the range.
