Top Flite XL Distance Review
2024Top FliteGolf Ball
Long, indestructible and rock hard, a ball built for the tee shot and openly indifferent to everything after it.

The XL Distance is the ball the game keeps around for beginners, corporate outings and anyone who loses four a round, and it is honest about what it is. A large high speed core and a thin cut proof ionomer cover produce high launch and almost no long game spin, and at moderate driver speeds that means carry plus a long, hard release. Nobody who plays it complains about distance off the tee.
Durability is the second half of the pitch and it is real, because the cover shrugs off cart paths and bunker rakes, so a fifteen ball pack lasts most of the golfers buying it an entire season. Everything else is a problem. The greenside grade sits a full tier under the overall because this ball does not spin on a short shot at all. Not a little, not less than a tour ball, essentially none, so a pitch lands and sprints, a chip runs well past the hole, and a full wedge takes one bounce and keeps going, and no amount of technique changes any of it.
Feel is the old nickname made literal, a loud crack off the putter and a shock through the hands off a thin iron. The value grade is genuinely high, because sixteen dollars for fifteen balls is real money saved. Every other grade on the card is the bill for it.
