2022SrixonGolf Ball
A hard, fast, entirely honest twenty two dollar ball that goes where you aim it and stops whenever it feels like it.

Srixon Distance has had the same job for two decades and does it without apology. A big high compression core, a thin ionomer cover, and nothing else in the recipe. It is firm the way a two piece ball with no soft mantle to hide behind is firm, and it tells you so at every strike: a sharp crack off the driver, a metallic ring off a blade putter, and iron shots that arrive in the hands as one hard tap.
For a quick swinger who does not care about greenside spin the payoff is real. Ball speed is high, driver spin is low, and the flight is a flat penetrating line that holds up in wind better than plenty of soft balls costing three times as much. It is also tough. The cover shrugs off a cart path bounce, and a sleeve will survive a month of range and course use without going out of round.
Everything after that is what twenty two dollars buys. Wedge spin is minimal, so a full shot from 100 yards lands and takes two big hops, and a greenside chip has to be played as a bump and run because it will not check on any surface. Feel is the weakest part of the ball, hard enough on a cold morning that a thin iron stings the hands for a hole. None of this is a surprise and none of it is hidden. It is the cheapest way to hit it a long way, and at that it is very good.
