Srixon AD333 Review
2026SrixonGolf Ball
The value ball Britain grew up on goes softer again for 2026, and around the green it still plays like the two piece ball it is.

The AD333 has been the reference point for value golf balls since 2004, and the 2026 ball changes the recipe only at the margins. Srixon has softened the FastLayer core from 70 compression to 68, keeping the gradient from a soft centre to a firmer edge, and says it has refined the Spin Skin coating and the 338 dimple pattern to add grip on wedges, cut drag and hold the ball up for longer.
Off the tee the result is a flight that stays low in spin, bores through a breeze and rarely wanders. Testers found it straighter than its rivals at the price, and players who fight a high, spinning slice gain the most. The same trait is the catch for anyone who already spins it too little: drives start low and run out, and a low launcher will find more carry elsewhere. Iron shots feel genuinely soft, softer than the previous model, although some testers found the response off the putter a little muted.
Around the green it is still a two piece ball, whatever the coating promises. A pitch checks once and releases, and on a launch monitor its spin from a hundred yards in came in at roughly half a tour ball's. Plan for the roll and it is predictable; expect a urethane stop and it will disappoint.
Durability is the quiet strength. One tester's ball came through a round of bunkers, rough and a wooden beam without a noticeable scuff, and the double ended arrow on the side is one of the clearest alignment aids on any box. At 28 pounds a dozen, and regularly less, it remains the ball the rest of the budget market is measured against. It is a British and European model; North American shelves carry other Srixon balls instead.
