Kirkland Signature Performance+ Review
2022Kirkland SignatureGolf Ball
A three-piece urethane ball for about thirteen dollars a dozen. The economics should not work and somehow they do.

The Kirkland ball started as a curiosity and a lawsuit and has settled into something genuinely useful. Performance+ is a three-piece construction under a cast urethane cover, the same basic recipe as balls costing four times as much, sold two dozen to a box for around twenty-five dollars. The short game performance is not a rounding error away from premium, it is properly close. Half wedges check, the cover takes a groove mark, and on a receptive green a full sand wedge will pull back a foot or two.
Distance is competitive for anything short of tour speed. The historical complaint was consistency, since the earliest runs varied noticeably ball to ball and lost their cover after a few holes, and later versions fixed most of that without fixing all of it. You still find a soft one in a box occasionally. Availability is the other catch, because it sells out and then disappears for months. Accept those two things and no other ball delivers this much performance per dollar, which is why the value grade tops out where it does.
