Bridgestone Tour B X Review
2024BridgestoneGolf Ball
Reactiv iQ makes the cover behave differently on a driver than on a wedge, and the claim survives contact with reality.

Reactiv iQ sounds like the sort of claim you should discount and it mostly is not. The cover is a smart urethane that responds to impact energy, stiffening under a driver strike to shed spin and add speed, then staying soft and compliant against a wedge where the load is a fraction as high. In practice the Tour B X is one of the lowest-spinning balls in the premium set off the tee, with a flat, stable flight, and it still bites on a short pitch instead of running out.
The gradational core does the familiar soft-centre firm-edge job and keeps the compression manageable for a ball this fast. Bridgestone's problem has never been engineering, it is that the fitting story is complicated and the naming is worse, with an X, an XS, an S and an RX sharing one shelf and confusing everybody. The X is the model for a player with speed who wants spin off the driver and not much else changed. At fifty dollars it is priced right against the field and it out-performs its market share by a wide margin.
