Zendesk turns customer contact into tickets and then works the queue. Email, chat, voice, SMS, WhatsApp and social messages land in one agent workspace with a shared conversation history, while routing rules, skills-based assignment and SLA policies decide who picks each up and by when. Macros insert canned responses, triggers and automations fire on ticket state, and views slice the backlog by any field. The help centre publishes a self-service knowledge base with article versioning and community forums, which in turn feeds the AI agents that deflect repeat questions before a human sees them.
Explore reports on volume, first-reply time and satisfaction, and a sizeable marketplace connects CRM, commerce and telephony systems. Seats bill per agent per month, with Suite Team at $55 and Suite Professional at $115 on annual billing and Enterprise quoted. Founded in Copenhagen in 2007, now headquartered in San Francisco. This entry carries a provisional placeholder grade: it has not been through a full graded review yet, so every letter here sits at a neutral C until it is.
