Retool Review
Internal tools in an afternoon, which is the part of every company nobody wants to staff.

Every company has a dozen internal tools it needs and does not want to build, and Retool is the fastest way to make them exist. Connect a database or an API, drag a table onto a canvas, wire a form to a query, and an admin panel that would have taken a developer a week is running in an afternoon. The components are good, the query editor is flexible, JavaScript can be dropped in anywhere the visual layer runs out, and the result is a tool that looks like an application rather than a spreadsheet.
For operations teams, support teams and anyone who needs to look at and edit production data safely, it is close to indispensable. The costs are the price, which is per user and climbs quickly for a company that gives it to everyone, a self hosted option that exists but is a project, and a learning curve that is shallow for the first tool and steeper for the fifth. It has competitors and none of them are as complete.
