Postman Review
The API client everyone learned on, and the one they keep trying to leave.

Postman is where a generation of developers first sent a request and read a response, and that on ramp is its enduring strength. Collections organise a whole API into runnable folders, environments swap credentials between staging and production, tests run against responses, and the documentation the tool generates from all of it is often better than the one a team would write by hand. For an organisation, the shared workspace means the API's shape lives somewhere everyone can see.
The complaints have grown with the product. It has become heavy, a large Electron application that is slow to open and busy with features most users never touch, the free tier was cut back and a mandatory cloud account pushed on people who wanted a local tool, and the pricing per seat is steep for a team that mainly wants to send requests. Lighter alternatives have taken the individual developer; Postman keeps the team that needs the platform.
