Lovable is an AI app builder that turns a plain description into a working full stack web application, database and all, that you can preview and deploy without writing code. Built by the Stockholm team behind the earlier GPT Engineer project, it became one of the defining tools of the 2025 vibe coding wave.
The growth was extraordinary. Lovable reached roughly 75 million dollars in annualized revenue by the middle of 2025 with a small team, then raised a Series B in December 2025 that valued it at 6.6 billion dollars, with several million registered users. Pricing starts with a free tier that grants a few credits a day, then Pro at 25 dollars a month and Business at 50, with enterprise quotes above that.
What it does well is the first ninety percent of a simple product. A founder or designer can describe an idea and have a clickable, hosted app in an afternoon. Where it strains is depth. Since July 2025 the credit system charges by the complexity of each request, so iterating on a larger app burns through the allowance quickly, and tangled features often need a real developer to finish. As a way to get from idea to prototype it is one of the best tools available. As a way to run a mature codebase it is not there yet.
