Harvey is a legal AI platform built for law firms and corporate legal departments, covering research, drafting, contract review and analysis with the citations and workflow lawyers expect. It has become the name big firms reach for, with adoption across large practices and an option to integrate LexisNexis content directly into its answers.
The price is the headline and the barrier. Harvey does not publish rates and sells only through its sales team, but reported figures put the base around 1200 dollars per seat each month, roughly double that with the Lexis integration, and a median contract near 175000 dollars a year with seat minimums that push the real entry point well into six figures. There is no self serve signup and no small plan.
What you get for that is a tool tuned to the domain, which matters in law where a confident wrong answer is a liability rather than an annoyance. Harvey is careful with sources and fits how firms actually work, and for an Am Law firm or a large in house team the math can pencil out against billable hours. For a solo practitioner or a small firm it is simply out of reach, and general purpose assistants at a fraction of the cost will cover more modest needs.
