Airtable looks like a spreadsheet and behaves like a database. A base holds tables whose fields are typed (text, single select, date, attachment, collaborator, formula, rollup) and records link to records in other tables, so a project row can reference its client, its assets and its tasks without copying data anywhere. Views filter, group and sort the same records into grid, kanban, calendar, gallery, timeline and Gantt layouts, saved privately or shared. Interface Designer builds simplified pages on top for people who should never see the raw table, and Automations trigger scripts, notifications and record updates on a schedule or a field change.
A scripting extension and a REST API cover the rest, while Sync pulls rows in from external sources. Charges run per editor seat, at $20 per user per month for Team and $45 for Business on annual billing, with read-only collaborators and form submitters free. Founded in 2012. This entry carries a provisional placeholder grade: it has not been through a full graded review yet, so every letter here sits at a neutral C until it is.
