The benchmark wedge gets a sharper face texture and a center of gravity that no longer moves when you change grind.

Vokey wedges have been the default in professional bags for so long that the only interesting question each generation is whether anything actually changed. This time something did. Titleist adjusted hosel lengths across the grind range so every grind in a given loft shares the same center of gravity position, which means a golfer who moves from a wide sole to a narrow one for firmer turf keeps the same flight window instead of relearning yardages.

That is a fitting problem solved rather than a marketing line. The face carries a new micro texture between the grooves, cut to raise friction on the shots where the groove itself does little work, and the groove edges get a heat treatment that roughly doubles how long they hold their bite. In use that shows on partial shots out of damp rough and on delicate pitches off tight lies, which is where the previous wedges surrendered spin first.

Feel is the usual Vokey: firm, quiet, and completely honest about where on the face you struck it. Forgiveness is not what a tour wedge is for, and this one is no kinder than the last on a thin strike. At two hundred dollars a club it is priced with the field, and the grind menu is still the deepest in golf.
