A multi-plateau face thickness map and a reshaped crown, refining the TSi2 rather than replacing it.

TSR2 is a refinement rather than a rethink, which is how Titleist tends to work. The face uses a multi-plateau variable thickness design, a stepped rather than smoothly tapered thickness map that targets ball speed retention across a broader area, particularly toward the heel where the standard TSi2 gave up more than Titleist wanted. The crown and skirt were reshaped for aerodynamics, with a flatter and slightly more elongated profile that reduces drag through the downswing without moving the centre of gravity forward.
The head remains 460cc with mass low and rearward, so it launches high with mid spin and holds up well on off-centre strikes. Sound is firm and low. Fitting is the SureFit hosel with sixteen loft and lie combinations and no movable weight, so the rest is shaft work. Lofts are 8, 9, 10 and 11 degrees. The letters are a provisional placeholder: nothing gets a real grade until it has been hit on a range and measured rather than read about.
