An aerospace titanium face alloy, chosen because it let Titleist thin the face where it mattered most.

TSi2 is built around a face material change. ATI 425 is an aerospace titanium alloy Titleist adopted because its strength allowed a thinner face across a wider area than the standard 6-4 titanium everyone else was using, which raises ball speed on strikes away from the centre rather than only at it. Around that face sits a 460cc head with a high moment of inertia and a slightly more rounded, less angular profile than the TS generation before it.
Mass sits low and rearward, so launch is high with mid spin, and the head resists twisting well on heel and toe misses. The sound is firmer and less hollow than the TS2. Fitting is the SureFit hosel with sixteen independent loft and lie combinations and a fixed sole weight, so the shaft carries the rest of the work. Lofts are 8, 9, 10 and 11 degrees. Provisional entry, held flat at C as a placeholder until a fitting session and range testing produce numbers worth standing behind.
