Titleist GTS3

Titleist GTS3 Review

The better player's GTS, lower spinning and sharper than the GTS2, and seven hundred dollars is a lot to ask for it.

Titleist has run the same split for four generations now. The 2 head is the forgiving one, the 3 head is what tour players and low handicaps ask for, and the difference between them is spin, shape and where the mass is allowed to sit. The GTS3 keeps that contract intact. It is shorter front to back than the GTS2, the crown runs flatter through the toe, and the sole carries a movable weight track rather than the fixed ports of the bigger head, so a fitter can push the center of gravity forward for spin control or back for a little stability without swapping into a different model.

What it does well it does very well. Spin drops a few hundred revolutions against the GTS2 at matched launch, the head resists closing through a hard release, and a player who works the ball in both directions gets a face that answers a held off finish instead of quietly straightening everything out. The sound is the familiar Titleist crack, tighter and quieter than a TaylorMade, and out of the middle this is the best feeling driver in the 2026 field.

The catch is that all of it refines the GT3 rather than replacing it. Ball speed is effectively unchanged, the face construction is shared with the GTS2, and in independent robot testing the generational gain sits inside the noise for most swings. Titleist has been straightforward that this is an iteration. The price has not been iterated in the same spirit: six hundred and ninety nine dollars is the top of the market, fifty to a hundred dollars clear of the equivalent Ping or Callaway, and the premium shaft list starts above that number rather than inside it.

Forgiveness is the honest weakness and the grade reflects it. This is a compact head with the weight where a repeatable swing wants it, and a heel strike gets punished the way compact heads punish. Get fitted into it deliberately, or take the GTS2 and keep the stability instead.
