The carbonwood bet: sixty layers of carbon where the titanium face used to be, wrapped in a red nanotexture cover.

Stealth replaced the titanium face with sixty layers of carbon, roughly forty per cent lighter than the equivalent titanium plate, and spent the saved grams on a low and deep centre of gravity. The red nanotexture polyurethane cover is not decoration, it manages friction at impact so spin behaves like a normal driver face rather than a composite one. The head is a full 460cc with an Inertia Generator running along the back of the sole and a carbon crown, so mass is concentrated low and rearward.
The face is larger than the SIM2 line it replaced and the acoustic signature is noticeably lower and duller, which some players read as muted and others as premium. The hosel sleeve gives the usual two degrees of loft in either direction with matching lie and face angle changes, and the weight is fixed, so fitting is done with shaft and sleeve. Stock lofts run 8, 9, 10.5 and 12 degrees. Grades here are a provisional placeholder held flat at C until this head goes through a proper fitting and a full launch monitor block.
