A lighter frame, heavier tungsten in the wings and the most stable Spider yet built.

Spider has always been about resisting twist on a heel or toe strike, and the GT pushes that further by taking mass out of the middle of the head and moving it into tungsten weights set as far into the wings as the shape allows. On a putt struck a full inch off centre the face barely rotates, so the ball leaves on line and finishes short rather than finishing short and offline, which is the miss that turns a two putt into three.

Speed control on long putts is the other benefit, because the roll off a mishit stays close to the roll off a pure one. The tradeoff is feel. The face insert gives a firm, slightly hollow response that never disappears into the hands the way a milled steel putter does, and players who putt by feel rather than by stroke will notice. Alignment is excellent, hosel options cover both arced and straight strokes, and at $349.99 it sits where the premium mallets live.
