Trades the sliding track for structure, and the extra stability is worth more than the adjustability it gave up.

SIM2 Max threw away the SIM's sliding track and spent that mass on structure instead. The forged ring construction is the point: an aluminium unibody wraps the perimeter and carries a full carbon crown and a full carbon sole, which leaves roughly 24 grams free for the Inertia Generator at the back. The result is a head with real heel-and-toe stability and a face about eight per cent larger than the SIM Max it replaced, so the top-of-face and low-toe strikes that used to cost fifteen yards now cost six.

Speed Injected Twist Face carries over, and the sound is a shade duller and lower than the SIM, which most players read as solid rather than dead. What it gives up is adjustability. Beyond the loft sleeve there is nothing to move, so if the flight is not yours out of the box you are fitting with a shaft rather than with the head. For a mid handicap chasing a stable, mildly draw-leaning launch, that trade is easy to make.
