2020TaylorMadeGolf Club
The Inertia Generator made aerodynamics and a deep centre of gravity the same decision, and the whole industry followed.

Shape In Motion was not just marketing. The Inertia Generator is a raised, angled slab of mass hung off the extreme back of the sole, and it does two jobs at once, cutting drag through the downswing while dragging the centre of gravity low and deep. Add the forged aluminium ring that ties a carbon crown to a carbon sole and TaylorMade could put mass where it wanted rather than where the structure demanded.
Speed Injection tuned every face to the legal limit before it left the factory, so nobody had to hunt for a hot one. Twist Face still does the quiet work, adding loft and closing the face on high-toe strikes and doing the reverse low on the heel, which is why mishits leak yards instead of falling out of the sky. The sliding 40-gram track moves flight a genuine two-club width left or right. It is a low-spin head that behaves like a forgiving one, and it was the best-sounding driver the company had made in a decade.
