P7MC is the sensible half of the pair TaylorMade launched alongside the P7MB blade, and for most decent players it is the one worth owning. The head is forged from 1025 carbon steel through a multi step process, and the small cavity behind the face buys back a fraction of the blade's punishment without widening the sole or thickening the topline. Nothing here is trying to make the ball go further.
Lofts are traditional, the centre of gravity sits where a tour player expects it, and ball speed falls away quickly outside a coin sized area, which is the point. What you buy is information. A strike one groove low feels different from one flush, the turf interaction through a tight lie is superb, and the sound at impact is the soft dull note that only forged carbon steel gives. Retail was $1,399 for the set in September 2020. If you are not finding the middle regularly, this iron will make sure you know about it.
