TaylorMade Milled Grind 3 Review
2021TaylorMadeGolf Club
A raw face that rusts on purpose, and a sole milled to a tolerance no hand grind can hold.

The raw face is not a styling choice. Chrome plating fills the corners of a groove very slightly, so leaving the hitting area unplated keeps the edges sharp, and the rust that forms within a few rounds grips a wet ball better than a shiny face does. That is where the wedge earns its keep, on a damp morning when a plated wedge gives up spin and this one does not. The soles are milled rather than ground by hand, which matters more than it sounds: bounce and leading edge relief are identical from one head to the next, so a fitter can prescribe a grind and know the shop will deliver exactly that.
Four grinds cover most turf, the low bounce option is genuinely low and gets fiddly out of soft sand. Feel is firm and clicky rather than buttery, which some players read as feedback and others as harsh. It sold for $179.99 a head, the going rate for a tour wedge in 2021.
