M4 is the forgiveness half of the 2018 pair and it drops the Y-Track entirely, taking the weight that would have gone into rails and sliders and casting it into the head instead. That leaves a larger, deeper 460cc profile with more heel-and-toe stability than the M3 and a higher launch out of the box. Twist Face carries over unchanged, as does the Hammerhead slot, a sectioned and stiffened sole channel that lets the lower face flex without the whole sole going soft.
The geocoustic sole shaping is an acoustic exercise, sculpted ribs and pockets that let TaylorMade use a thinner sole while keeping the sound firm rather than tinny. Fitting is the four-degree sleeve and nothing else. Lofts run 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 and 12 degrees, and at $429 it undercut its own stablemate by seventy dollars while suiting a wider range of swings. Grades here are a provisional placeholder held flat at C until this head goes through a proper fitting and a full launch monitor block.
