Built for one number and it delivers it, provided you accept a seven iron with the loft of a six.

Every decision in this set serves carry. The face is a thin unsupported plate, under two millimetres through the long irons, and the inverted cone milled into its back thins the perimeter so ball speed holds up on the toe and low strikes that game improvement irons are bought to survive. Lofts are pulled strong, a seven iron sitting where a six used to live, and the wide multi relief sole with its low centre of gravity gets that loft airborne anyway.

The gain is real. A mid handicapper picks up a genuine club, and picks it up on the mishits rather than the middle. What it costs is feel and information. Impact is a hard hollow click through the hands, thin shots do not announce themselves clearly enough to learn from, and the hole between a pitching wedge at forty four degrees and a sand wedge still sitting at fifty five has to be filled with two more clubs. Gapping through the scoring irons never quite recovers. Judged on what the box promises it is excellent, and it sold in numbers to match.
