The best feeling players distance iron on the market, and it undercuts every club it beats by two hundred dollars.

Srixon has quietly owned this category for three cycles and the ZXi5 does nothing to lose it. The proposition has not moved: a forged cavity back that reads like a players iron from above, with enough face technology behind it to keep a six iron flying when the strike comes out thin. The topline is genuinely thin, the offset is progressive and stays modest even in the long irons, and the sole carries the Tour V.T. grind that gets the leading edge through turf without digging on a steep delivery. Set it in a row next to a Ping i230 and a Titleist T150 and it is the best looking of the three.
Feel is where it separates from the field. Soft forged carbon steel, a compact head and a milling pattern that thins the face behind the center rather than uniformly, and the result is a strike that reports back through the hands without stinging on a miss. Better players put Srixon at the top of this category in blind testing with tedious regularity, and the ZXi5 is a small step softer again than the ZX5 Mk II it replaces.
Distance is deliberately not the headline, which is the correct decision and also a real limitation. The lofts are stronger than a true players iron and weaker than the Callaway and TaylorMade equivalents, so anybody cross shopping on carry numbers will see most of a club of difference and should see it. What Srixon sells instead is a consistent gap through the set and a flight that lands steeply enough to hold a firm green. Forgiveness is competent rather than generous: a heel miss costs yardage and the ZXi4 exists for players who need that softened.
The number that closes the argument is one thousand two hundred and ninety nine dollars for seven clubs in steel, which sits one to two hundred dollars under every direct competitor. For a forged iron finished this well that is the strongest value case in the category, and it has been for years running.
