A stainless and aluminum mallet with the calmest face in the Scotty line and a price that still stings.

Scotty Cameron spent years selling blades to people who should have been putting with mallets, and the Phantom line is the correction. The 11 joins a 303 stainless steel face and body to lightweight aluminum in the sole plate and flange, which pushes mass out to the perimeter and gives the head enough stability that a strike off the toe still starts the ball close to the line you picked.
On putts inside five feet that is worth more than anything else a putter can do, and it is why this shape keeps turning up in tour bags. Alignment is the other half of the design. Long sight lines run from the topline back through the flange and pull the eye down the target line rather than across it, so squaring the face at address becomes close to automatic.
The face is dual milled, a deeper cut worked over a finer one, and the result is soft at impact with just enough report to tell you what you did. The mid bend shaft suits a stroke with very little arc and will fight a strong arc. The trouble is the invoice. Four hundred and fifty dollars buys putters from three other manufacturers that roll the ball just as truly, and the value grade says so plainly. Everything else here is excellent.
