The Glide line was always a wedge for the rest of us. The s159 is the one built from tour player complaints, and the shape tells you so before you hit it. The leading edge is straighter, the blade shorter and the topline thinner, so the face sits closer to the ground when it is opened and the sole does not fight a player who likes to lay one back and slide it under the ball. Six grinds is the widest range Ping has offered, and the two new ones cover the extremes, a wide sole for soft sand and heavy turf and a tight relieved sole for firm links ground.

Feel is the same soft 8620 press the previous generation introduced and spin is up, particularly on the partial shots where Ping historically gave ground. What it loses is a little of the Glide's rescue on a poor strike, which is exactly the trade a better player wants. At $197 a head in steel it is fairly priced for what it now is.
