G425 Max returns to a full 460cc footprint and grows the movable weight from sixteen to twenty-six grams, which is a serious amount of adjustable mass sitting at the extreme rear of the sole. It still clicks between draw, neutral and fade positions, and the head in its neutral setting posted one of the highest inertia figures available at the time. The face uses Ping's spinsistency thickness profile, thinned low on the face so that strikes below centre launch higher with less spin, which is the most common amateur miss and the one that costs the most carry.
The dragonfly crown pattern and internal acoustic ribbing return, so the sound remains a low muted thud rather than a crack. Trajectory Tuning 2.0 handles loft and lie across eight positions. Lofts are 9, 10.5 and 12 degrees, with LST and SFT variants alongside. Provisional entry, held flat at C as a placeholder until a fitting session and range testing produce numbers worth standing behind.
