Ping G20 Driver Review
2012PingGolf Club
No sleeve, no track, no wrench. Ping spent the entire budget on a head that simply refuses to twist.

While everyone else was selling wrenches, Ping sold a driver you could not adjust and did not need to. The G20 head is 460cc of thin walled titanium with the mass pushed out to the extremes, and the result is a club that holds ball speed on strikes toward the toe better than anything else that season. Launch is high, spin is moderate, and the flight leans very slightly left in a way that suits the player who fights the right side of the course.
The crown is a deep gloss black with a small alignment cue, and the shape sits square, tall and reassuring behind the ball. Ping's own TFC 169D shaft was heavier than the featherweight sticks the rest of the market pushed that year, which is part of why the club feels stable rather than whippy at the top. Impact is a muted crack, lower and softer than the white driver everyone was talking about. If you were never going to be fitted properly, this was the safest three hundred and fifty dollars in the category, and plenty of good players never left it.
