Cobra OPTM Max-K Review
2026CobraGolf Club
Cobra chased dispersion instead of yardage, and built a driver that is very hard to miss with and ten yards short.

Every driver marketing cycle invents an acronym, and Cobra's is at least about something real. Product of inertia measures how a head rotates diagonally across all of its axes at once, because a clubhead does not only open and close at impact, it also tilts and droops, and Cobra's aim is to drive that number down while pushing MOI up. The Max-K is where the idea lands hardest: the company puts its combined three axis MOI at 13,000 and claims the low POI shaping cuts shot dispersion by up to 23 percent. In the Max-K the claim holds up. Testers found it close to unmissable: strikes well out on the toe or heel finished about fifteen yards either side of target.
The bill comes due in yardage. Spin sits around 3,500 revolutions with a high launch, and the same tester lost roughly ten yards against the low spin LS head in the same line. Anybody who already flights the ball too high should be fitted elsewhere. Impact is crisp and the feedback is consistent, though a bad strike feels worse than it scores, and the glossy crown picks up marks quickly.
Five hundred and ninety nine dollars is fifty to a hundred dollars under every rival in this class, all four OPTM heads cost the same so nobody is steered toward a cheaper shape than the one that fits, and the hosel gives a fitter thirty three loft and lie settings to work with. For a golfer whose problem is the left and right miss, nothing this year is a better buy.
