Callaway has been shaping iron faces by computer for four generations now and the returns had started to flatten. The Quantum Max face is where it pays again. More than a hundred pyramid shapes are cut into the back of the face in three different thicknesses, so the thin sections sit exactly where mid and high handicappers miss rather than spread evenly, and the undercut cavity runs the full way around the head to let the whole face flex. The result is the easiest launching iron of the 2026 field by a clear margin, with a peak height that holds a firm green from a seven iron a golfer has no business stopping.
Feel is the other surprise. Cast game improvement heads are normally the price paid for that speed, and this one is soft and quiet, the best of the class this year and better than Callaway's own Apex cast models.
The tri sole changes width through the set, wider in the long irons for turf that grabs and narrower in the scoring clubs. Lofts are strong at 29 degrees for the seven. One thousand one hundred and forty nine dollars for seven in steel is fifty dollars over Srixon and TaylorMade for no clear reason, and a Max OS model exists for golfers who need more help again.
