Sony ZV-E10 II Review
2024SonyCamera
A vlogging camera that grew up into a decent hybrid, with the viewfinder still missing.

Sony designs the ZV line for people who point the camera at themselves, and the second E10 is much more capable than the first while still refusing to be a general purpose camera. The sensor upgrade to the A6700's 26 megapixel chip is significant: ten bit 4:2:2 video, oversampled 4K from 5.6K, and a far better stills camera than the old model. The autofocus is Sony's current subject tracking, which is the best in the business for a talking head.
The battery doubled in capacity. What has not changed is the philosophy. There is no viewfinder, which makes it awkward in bright sun, no in body stabilisation, which makes walking footage dependent on a stabilised lens or the cropped electronic mode, and the mechanical shutter has been removed entirely, so fast movement under artificial light can band. The product photography mode and the background defocus button remain useful gimmicks. It is a good camera for exactly its audience and a frustrating one for anyone else.
