Sony A7 III Review
2018SonyCamera
The camera that made full frame mirrorless the default, and still the smartest used purchase in photography.

Before this camera, full frame mirrorless was a compromise you accepted for size. The A7 III removed the compromises one at a time: a 24 megapixel sensor with excellent dynamic range and clean high ISO, autofocus fast and sticky enough for events and sport, eye detection that actually worked, ten frames a second, dual card slots and the new Z battery that finally lasted a full day.
It did all of that at a price Canon and Nikon could not match with anything in their lineups, and the result was a stampede. Its faults are the ones Sony fixed in later bodies: a menu system that felt designed to be hostile, a low resolution rear screen, no touch focus in the viewfinder, and video that was competent rather than distinguished, with a modest 4K crop and eight bit files. Eight years on, a used one still does almost everything a working photographer needs.
