The GFX100RF is an unusual thing: a 102 megapixel medium format camera small enough to treat like a large compact. It uses the same 43.8 by 32.9mm sensor as Fujifilm's GFX100 II, fixed behind a 35mm f/4 lens that gives a 28mm full frame equivalent view, and it adds classic dials, an aspect ratio selector and a built in 4 stop neutral density filter.

The files are the reason to buy. Nothing else this portable resolves detail, color and tonal gradation like a big medium format sensor, and the retro control layout invites you to shoot slowly and deliberately. At 4899 dollars it is far cheaper than a GFX body plus a comparable lens, and it draws attention without shouting.

There is no in body stabilization, which is a real ask of a 102 megapixel sensor, the f/4 lens is slower than some street shooters want, and the fixed 28mm equivalent view will not suit everyone. Autofocus is fine rather than fast. This is a camera for landscape, travel and documentary photographers who want the highest image quality in a body they will actually carry, and who accept a single focal length as the trade.
