The WIZRD Review

2019Album

Competent, long and entirely predictable. The sound of a formula being maintained.

By this point he had made the same album enough times that the question stops being whether it is good and becomes whether anything is new. Nothing is. The production is the reliable version of his sound, dark synths, patient drums, plenty of space for the vocal, and it is well made throughout. Crushed Up is a decent single. Jumpin on a Jet has a hook that works.

Rocket Ship and Temptation reach for the introspection that made HNDRXX land and get about a third of the way there. Call the Coroner is fine. The problem is sixty five minutes at one speed with one mood and one subject, and no track that argues for its own existence over any of the twenty others. It debuted at number one and vanished from conversation inside a month, which is the most accurate review anybody has given it. Skilled maintenance work, and nothing more.
