2021Album
Two enormous stars, eighteen tracks, and no reason for any of them to be on the same album.

The problem is that they are too similar to contrast and too different to blend. Both work in a conversational, melodic register about the same subjects, so the songs become two men taking turns rather than a partnership, and unlike the pairing that made one of them famous there is no textural friction to enjoy. Hats Off has the best beat and the only guest who changes the room.
Voice of the Heroes is a strong opener that promises more than the rest delivers. How It Feels and Man of My Word are perfectly competent. Everything else runs together into an hour of grey, expensive trap with a hook every three minutes. It went to number one on the strength of the names, which was always the plan. There is no bad music here and no memorable music either, and by the end you cannot recall who said what.
