2018Album
The independent restart, and the first time the writing sounds like it came from him.

The change of setting fixes the tone immediately. Back on his own terms and reviving the series name, he stops chasing a chorus that will play in other cities and starts writing about his own again, which is where the appeal has always been. Rich Homie Quan appears on the best track. Bougie is direct. Home Body works because it does not try to be a single.
The melodic wail is now under proper control, used for punctuation rather than plastered across every hook, and there are two or three moments where a verse turns genuinely uncomfortable. What holds it back is the beats, still thin and functional, and a running order that feels like a folder rather than a sequence. It is a transitional record and an honest one, and the version of him that made the good albums two years later is clearly audible in it.
