2016Album
Thirty two minutes of pure sugar rush. The moment the whole style arrived.

The appeal is entirely kinetic and it is enormous. Maaly Raw and Don Cannon build beats out of major key synth arpeggios and drums that skip rather than stomp, and the vocal bounces across them with the giddiness of someone who has just discovered they can do this. Money Longer is the perfect example, a hook that keeps ascending over a beat that refuses to sit still, and it is still difficult to hear without moving.
Do What I Want has the best energy. Team Rocket and Grab the Wheel keep the pace. The lyrics are almost entirely about clothes, cars and enemies, delivered in phrases rather than sentences, and complaining about that misses what the record is for. What matters is that a rock and roll temperament had entered rap without any of the guitar clichés attached, and half the following decade of teenage rap starts here.
