Insano Review
2024Album
Twenty one tracks of expensive modern production with almost nothing written over it.

The strategy seems to have been to sound current, and current is the last thing that has ever suited him. Producers who make excellent records for other people turn in hard, bright, busy beats, and his voice, which needs space and reverb to work at all, gets stranded on top of them sounding thin. Most Ain't Dennis has some life. At the Party is fun for two minutes on the strength of its guests.
Elsewhere the melodies are placeholders and the writing is a set of phrases about being wild and being free that could have been generated by any of the last four albums. Twenty one tracks and over an hour with no acts, no arc and no idea. The most damning thing is how little of it you can recall an hour after it ends. He has made worse records and he has never made one this forgettable.
