Hurry Up Tomorrow Review
2025Album
A grand closing statement that mistakes exhaustion for profundity and runs almost half an hour too long.

There is a fine forty minute record inside this. The premise, a performer whose voice fails him and who has to decide whether the character was ever worth defending, is the most honest thing he has attempted, and moments land it: Cry for Me is a genuine wail, Sao Paulo is the most reckless he has sounded in a decade, Timeless is a properly nasty hit. But eighty odd minutes of terminal atmosphere is a lot to ask of anyone, and by the middle stretch the record stops developing and starts hovering.
Ideas recur without deepening. The strings swell on cue. The self examination keeps arriving at the same conclusion. Where Dawn FM used its concept to justify every track, this one uses its concept to excuse them. The closing loop back to the first album is a lovely piece of architecture and it would hit harder if the hour before it had earned the reunion. Ambitious, seriously made, and badly in need of an editor.
