A guest rapper walks in and quietly outworks the headliner across sixteen tracks of his own album.

The pairing works because the two men are opposites. One over explains, the other says the worst possible thing in a monotone and moves on. Rich Flex is a great opening bit and a mediocre song. Major Distribution and Privileged Rappers are hard and short and exactly what this record should be. Circo Loco has a good beat and a line about a pop star that generated a week of arguments and reads worse every year.
The production is consistently strong, dark and clipped and free of the bloat that had swallowed the solo albums, and at sixteen tracks it is the shortest thing he had released in ages. But the headliner's writing is the same set of complaints in a slightly meaner voice, and every time his partner takes a verse the difference in economy is obvious. Tight, mean and endlessly replayable, and the most fun he had sounded on a record in years.
