Heaven or Hell Review
2020Album
A voice built for expensive rooms, applied to thirty four minutes that never overstay.

The instrument does most of the work and it is a genuinely unusual one, a high, hazy croon that slides between notes without ever landing hard, sitting somewhere between singing and talking. The production is built to frame that, glossy synth beds, heavy reverb and drums mixed far enough back to keep everything floating. No Idea is the reason people know him, a bassline and a hook that repeat for two minutes and refuse to leave your head afterwards.
Can't Feel My Legs has real momentum. Euphoria and Candy do the mood well. What is entirely absent is content, since the writing is a collection of phrases about drugs, cars and women arranged for sound rather than sense. At thirty four minutes that hardly matters. It is a short, well made record that does exactly one thing, and the thing is pleasant enough to justify the whole exercise.
