Eternal Atake Review
2020Album
Three years of label hell produced the best album of the whole scene. Absurd, weightless and endlessly replayable.

The wait built expectations that should have been impossible to meet, and this cleared them. The production is genuinely futuristic, synths that sound like they were built rather than played, drums that shift pattern mid bar, and beat switches placed where a normal record would put a chorus. Baby Pluto opens with a flow so fast and so precise that it recontextualises everything before it.
Lo Mein and Silly Watch are pure technique. That Way turns a Backstreet Boys sample into something joyful rather than ironic. P2 is the sequel to the big single and, remarkably, holds its own. The writing remains a stream of brand names and threats and it does not matter at all, because the voice is being used as a rhythmic instrument and the rhythm is extraordinary. Sixty two minutes with almost no drop in quality. The high point of the whole melodic era.
