DS4Ever Review

Pushin P is the reason this album is remembered and it is genuinely great, a beat made of nothing but a bass pulse and a bell, a hook that turned into a national joke within a week, and a guest verse that steals it outright. Around that sits sixty two minutes of the established formula, cushioned production, whispered delivery, no risk anywhere. Too Easy is a strong single.

Thought I Was Playing has a guest doing all the heavy lifting. Banking on Me and Alotta Cake are pleasant and interchangeable. Twenty tracks is at least seven too many and the last third is indistinguishable from any of his other records. Two months after release he was arrested with most of his label, which ended this era abruptly. Judged purely as music it is the same album as the last one with a much bigger single attached, and the single is worth the entry.
